Dear Parents, Alumni, Faculty, Administrators, and Falcon Supporters,

We would like to encourage all to join the Hanford Falcons Sports Booster Club, a non-profit 501c(3) organization, for the 2009-10 school year. The Sports Boosters are organized to provide financial support to the Hanford High School (HHS) student-athletes. Last year's membership support enabled the Sports Boosters to contribute $10,000 to the general athletic fund, which enabled coaches and administrators to set funding priorities that enhanced HHS student-athletes options and opportunities. In addition, the Sports Boosters completed capital projects across the HHS campus, which included upgrading the baseball storage shed, refurbishing the soccer player benches and pouring concrete pads, building a three station baseball batting cage, rebuilding the centerfield baseball wall, and purchasing volleyball standards equipment. We were also able to award $3,000 in college scholarships for the Bill Knirck Memorial Scholarship.

To accomplish more of these efforts, your generosity and support is needed. In 2009-010, the Sports Boosters are working towards building storage facilities for the football, softball, and track facilities; building a soccer video tower/scorer's building; and pouring concrete pads for grandstands at the soccer facilities. In addition, the Boosters will cover State Tournament expenses not included in the Associated Student Body (ASB) budget, plaques and trophies for the athletic teams, and operating the concessions stands with half the proceeds going to HHS clubs and activities. The Sports Boosters are truly a "school" oriented organization as represented by their actions and donations.

The mechanisms to raise these funds are through our annual membership dues; the Fall Falcon Classic Golf Tournament that is held at the Horn Rapids Golf Course; Tailgate Parties and Silent Auctions; working at the Benton-Franklin County Fair and Rodeo; Concessions operations; AAU Basketball League gym operators; Basketball Pop Shoots; the annual Powder Puff Football game; and 50/50 Raffles. Booster members receive discounts on these events along with discounted merchandise.
